CLA - International Law Section of Law Council of Australia Limited Alliance
An alliance with the ILS - International Section, Law Council of Australia became
effective on 1 January 2006. Both organisations work effectively together for the
benefit of their members. The ILS provides speakers on international law topics
at seminar organised by CLA. Under the alliance program the International Law Seminar
Series was launched in August 2006. Sponsored by Corrs Chambers Westgarth, the two
hour afternoon evening seminars have proved highly successful. The ILS will keeps
CLA members updated on International law development with copies of the ILS newsletter
will be available through the CLA member Centre.
Members of the CLA are also able to join the ILS at a reduced membership fee.

Parsons Centre and CLA in joint conference project
The CLA is proud to announce a new alliance with the Ross Parsons Centre of Commercial,
Corporate and Taxation Law, University of Sydney. The CLA and the Parsons Centre
will run a joint conference on Current Issues in Commercial Law Contracts on Friday
27 July 2007.

RetireInvest supports CLA
Greg Dunger, Managing Director, RetireInvest announced that his company were renewing
their alliance with the CLA for a further 12 months. The announcement was made at
the Navigating the retirement village and aged care maze seminar held at the Sheraton
on the Park Hotel on Thursday 2 November. Under the alliance RetireInvest will continue
to provide a range of special board room briefings for members.

ALB - Australasian Legal Business in the only independent magazine dedicated to
the latest legal news, evnts and developments in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore,
China, Asia and the International business community. Each issue contains in depth
features examining changes in legislation, important areas of practice, overseas
jurisdictions along with revealing profiles of major industry leaders. CLA members
will continue to receive copies of the ALB magazine as part of their membership
of the Association.

FINSIA and the CLA joint Financial Services and the Law Conference 25 October 2007
Finsia - the Financial Services Institute of Australasia - is the new face of the
Securities Institute of Australia and the Australasian Institute of Banking and
Finance (AIBF). Finsia is one of the largest financial services organisations in
Australia and New Zealand with a combined heritage of 160 years experience. The

for building careers and raising standards in financial services. The CLA and Finsia
are working together to host their second Banking Law Conference, which in 2007
has been renamed 'Financial Services and the Law Conference'. The one day conference
is being held at the Hawkesbury Auditorium, Level 3, NAB House 255 George Street
Sydney 9.00 C5.00 pm Thursday 25 October.
